Weird tweet from Azharuddin's official account hits back at Gautam Gambhir; gets deleted later

Ace Indian opener Gautam Gambhir is known for speaking out his mind. On Sunday, the Delhi cricketer tweeted criticizing the decision to allow former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin to ring the bell at the Eden Gardens to flag off the first T20I between India and Windies. According to Gambhir, the decision taken by the cricket authorities diluted the no tolerance stance taken against corruption. But something weird happened after the veteran batsman gave his opinion. Gambhir faced a backlash after giving his opinion as many social media users even suspecting him as one who is planning to join a particular political party and hence was making charges against Azhar, a former member of parliament from Uttar Pradesh. Gambhir told not to ‘please a particular party’ A weird tweet was posted from the official account of the former India captain which addressed him as “Azhar” and said: “Azhar is a great cricketer and in the eyes of law he is not guilty too. Gambhir just to please a particular party dont say anything to a veteran cricketer. U also know that as a cricketer he is even better than u. (Photo Source: Twitter) In his tweet, Gambhir took a strong dig at cricket bodies like the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and also the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) saying the decision to allow Azhar was akin to betraying the no tolerance policy on corruption. He also spoke on the issue of allowing the former Hyderabad batsman to contest the Hyderabad Cricket Association election, a development which took place in January this year with the BCCI clarifying that it did not consider barring the former player from holding positions in the International Cricket Council, BCCI or bodies affiliated to it. The CAB, as per its tradition of inviting a former player to ring the bell five minutes prior to the start of a match, brought in Azhar, who was known for his high performance at the iconic venue in his playing days, this time.
