“Welcome to Sunrisers Hyderabad” – David Warner to Mitchell Starc ahead of IPL 2020 Auction
Micthell Starc took nine wickets in the series opener against New Zealand
Australia won the Test series opener against New Zealand played in Perth by a massive margin of 296 runs. Mitchell Starc was given Man of The Match for taking nine wickets. He helped his side in taking a lead in three-match series by 1-0. With IPL 2020 auction lined up on December 19, there were speculations that he will go under the hammer but he denied taking part in the T20 tournament. However, his teammate David Warner recently tried mocking him in a hilarious fashion.
Mitchell Starc has emerged as one of the leading pacers for Australia in the last four to five years. He has donned national jersey in 55 Tests, 85 ODIs and 28 T20Is in which he has grabbed more than 450 international wickets.
David Warner posts a cheeky story for his teammate
The left-arm pacer was at his best in the series opener with the pink cherry in his hand against Kiwis. He dismissed Kane Williamson, Tom Latham, Henry Nicholls, Henry Nicholls in the first inning and castled Jeet Raval, Ross Taylor, BJ Watling (wk), Neil Wagner in 2nd innings of the same game. It helped Australia in winning their third Test Match in a row and grab some important points in the ongoing ICC Test Championship.
After the conclusion of the match, David Warner, the left-handed Aussie opener updated his Instagram story in which he can be spotted standing alongside New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson, who is shaking hands with his teammate Mitchell Starc. He gave a humorous caption to his story that read, “Welcome to Sunrisers Hyderabad @mstarc56,”.
It was pretty evident from the story that Warner wanted the prolific pacer to be the part of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming season of IPL. However, it is not possible because Starc has not given his name for the auction that is going to be held in this respective week.
Mitchell Starc has not played a single game in IPL since 2015 but he was one of the costliest picks in IPL auction 2018 when KKR bought him after paying a hefty amount of 9.6 Cr. However, he sustained an injury just before the IPL and was ruled out from the T20 tournament. There were rumours that fans will get to watch the magic of the Aussie pacer in the upcoming season but surprisingly he decided to take his name back from the IPL 2020 auction.
