West Indies Cricket Board to change its name
The West Indies Cricket Board is currently in turmoil, but the fact remains that the rebranding process as far as the WICB is concerned has already begun. David Cameron, the chief of the West Indies-based board also went on to add that a company named ‘Windies’ has been formed to deal with the commercial matters of the WICB.
“At this point in time we are no longer called the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) but Cricket West Indies and we have also formed a company to deal with the commercial matters of West Indies cricket and this is called Windies,” Cameron said.
“We continue to explore ways to take West Indies cricket forward and this rebranding is necessary as we move along.”
Whilst adding that the business of the WICB has not really been at its best in recent times, it would seem clear that the Sport of Business needs to be clear as the entity is not going to be a government one.

He said: “I am a businessman, so I understand what it takes to make it successful. One thing you need to understand is that sport is a business and us at Cricket West Indies are like a government.”
“We need to manage the affairs of the sport not only in terms of improving the performances of our various teams but also the financial aspect in order to gather what we all want, which is a success.”
Cameron went on to add that they wanted to do things right as far as Cricket matters were concerned and that it would certainly be important to manage all the aspects of the business. “We want to do things right and do it in a way that would keep us up to date with the changing face of sports management,” he said.
