West Indies cricketer Andre Fletcher arrested at Airport with ammunition: West Indian cricketer Andre Fletcher has been arrested at the Douglas Charles airport for reportedly carrying ammunitions with him. A report in the Dominica News Online (DNO) stated that the cricketer was arrested after it was discovered that he was carrying 50 rounds of ammunition with him while at the airport.
The report further said that Fletcher, who is in custody, will now be produced before the Court today. It is believed that he was in Dominica to practice there as he is a member of the Windward Island squad. The airport officials arrested him while he was on his way out of the country.
Lockhart Sebastian the Manager of the Windward Islands team said that he is aware of their player being arrested and that they will try their best and supports him. He was quoted by (DNO) saying: “I will support him; I will not abandon him … that is the job of a manager,”
Andre Fletcher has been a part of the West Indies national squad in 15 ODIs and 22 T20Is. The last time that he played in the West Indies jersey was back in January, 2015 against South Africa, while he made his debut in 2008.
