According to the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), fast bowler Jerome Taylor has suddenly called time on his Test career. Days before the start of the upcoming series against India Taylor has made the decision. The paceman took 130 wickets in 46 Tests over 13 years. However, he will continue playing limited-overs cricket.

“Right-arm fast bowler Jerome Taylor will not be available for the upcoming Test series against India, following his formal notification to retire from that format of the game,” a short statement from the WICB said yesterday.

“The 32-year-old has, however, indicated his availability for the shorter formats.”

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) on Monday released the 13-man squad for the first Test against India. The selectors will now meet to add another player in the squad due to Taylor’s abrupt retirement call.
