Sri Lanka and West Indies aiming to get the winning momentum in the T20 World Cup 2021
Sri Lanka initially had an impressive run in the high-profile tournament. The Dasun Shanaka-led side won all their three matches to advance to the Super 12s. The team then also emerged triumphant against Bangladesh in their first match of the Super 12s.
They exuded some great character to chase down a total of 172. However, in the next match against Australia, the team had to face defeat by seven wickets. As they are placed in a rather challenging group for the mega event, the team will look forward to punching above their weights in the next match.
West Indies, on the other hand, has had a dismaying outing in the tournament so far. The team lost their initial two matches in the marquee event. In their opening fixture, they were completely outplayed by England. While in their next match against South Africa, the team’s batting lineup yet again experienced a collapse wherein they lost the match by eight wickets. When the Kieron Pollard-led side locked horns with Bangladesh for their third match of the tournament, they finally registered their first victory and will aim to continue the winning momentum further.
