West Indies v India, Test series: West Indies player ratings
West Indies had a series to forget, as they had the biggest loss (2-0) against India in a home series. India won the first and third Test match of the 4-match series, whereas the heroics from Roston chase saw the second match ending up in a draw. The fourth and final match was washed out due to wet outfield and rain.
Jason Holder – 4
The Windies skipper had a decent series as he had made some contribution with the bat. His unbeaten 64 in the second innings of the second Test ensured a draw in the match. However, he would certainly be loved to have more than one wicket against his name.
Kraigg Brathwaite – 6.5
The leading run-getter for West Indies in the series, scoring 200 runs in the series averaging 33.33. Considering the fact that, Windies tumbled in more often than not, he is one of the few batsmen who showed a bit of resistance.
Devendra Bishoo – 5.5
Being the lone leg-spinner in the side, he came into the series under a lot of expectation and started off quite well picking up 3 wickets in the first innings of the first Test. But doesn’t get many opportunities with the ball, bit under bowled at times.

Carlos Brathwaite – 3
The hero of the World T20 2016 final, played just one match in the series, where he scored a duck in the first innings and remained unbeaten on 51 in the second innings. Despite bowling 25 overs, he failed to pick a wicket as the Indian batting looked as solid as anything.
Jermaine Blackwood – 4.5
Averaging just over 24 in the series, he took the attack onto the opposition more often than not, and always tried to stay positive. He had a strike-rate hoovering over 65 and have two half-centuries against his name.
Darren Bravo – 2.5
Again, another Windies player who came into the series under a lot of expectation, but failed to live up to it. Indian bowlers attacked him with short pitch deliveries as soon as he came to the crease. An average below 20 for him, virtually explains how the series shaped up.
Rajendra Chandrika – 2
In his early days of his career, it was an opportunity for him to make a mark and cement his spot in the squad as Windies is looking forward to building a squad for the future. But lost his plot and was dropped from the squad after the second Test match.
Roston Chase – 7.5
The find of the series for the West Indies, as Roston Chase was quite often a one man army for the home side. His century in the second Test saved the match for them and was quite handy with the ball too. He bagged 8 wickets with his off-spin.
Miguel Cummins – 7
The most successful pace bowler in the Windies squad, who picked up 9 wickets from his 3 innings at a strike-rate of 21. He has the best bowling figures of 6/48 in the third Test match at Gros Islet.

Shane Dowrich – 6
Windies wicket-keeper batsmen, Dowrich has been quite impressive with his glove work considering some of the patchy surfaces in the tour. His knock in the second Test along with Roston Chase was the key partnership of the match, as Windies drew the Test match.
Shannon Gabriel – 3
The strong built Gabriel bowled his heart out but failed to have much success. Five wickets from 4 Test matches, is not something the lead pace bowler of West Indies is expected to have.
Leon Johnson – 1.5
He was brought in the third Test match as a replacement of Chandrika but managed to score just 32 runs from 3 innings out of which one was a run-out. Hope, the youngster learned something from the series and would improve in the future.

Marlon Samuels – 3.5
The veteran batsman, Marlon Samuels was one of the experienced players in the squad but he failed to be an example for the young team. With 152 runs from 7 innings, with just one half-century, he is nowhere near to what he would want him to be.
Alzarri Joseph – 5
The one bowler, who bowled with a lot of intent, pace, and swing. Starting off his career with bouncing out the Indian skipper, one couldn’t have asked for a better start to the career. However, quite surprisingly, he was dropped in the next Test match after picking 3 wickets in his debut match.
