The West Indies (WI) will lock horns with Ireland (IRE) in match number 13 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on February 17, 2023, at the Newlands in Cape Town.
The West Indies after having a very ordinary campaign in the seventh edition will look to play positive cricket against Ireland to grab the important points on offer in the league stage of the tournament. They won only one game in the previous edition and lost two matches , one game against South Africa ended in no result.
Ireland, on the other hand, have a very poor World Cup record with their last match coming in the 2018 edition of the event. They have qualified for the World Cup this year after missing out in the last edition. They would be looking to play some good cricket so as to upset the big teams in the league.
As far as the T20 World Cup is concerned, both teams will be meeting for the first time in this event.
