Whenever India captain Virat Kohli comes up with a post on social media, the fans are left guessing whether he is indicating something. Recently, one of his posts from the 2016 World T20 sparked speculation that he was hinting at the future of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s international career. And now, yet another post from Kohli on Instagram has fueled similar speculation.

The 30-year-old came up with a photo in which he is seen with AB de Villiers and Eoin Morgan. The picture is from the 2017 Champions Trophy where the trio was leading their respective countries. It was from the captains’ meeting and all the three are seen sharing a light moment with Kohli holding the mic in his hand.

His left hand is seen patting the knee of England captain Morgan who is sitting to his left. To Kohli’s right is former SA skipper De Villiers who is looking at the other two with a smiling face. All three skippers are seen sporting broad smiles.

In a caption showing respect for the other two cricketers, Kohli said, “The beautiful thing about sport is that rivalries stay on the field and just with a smile and an open mind all tension between athletes can be put to rest. Play hard on the field but always be up for a laugh off it. What a blessing to have gotten to know so many amazing people through sport.”

Are RCB eyeing Eoin Morgan, the latest World Cup-winning captain?

The fans kept thinking whether Kohli’s post was a suggestion that Morgan, 33, is the next overseas player his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were eyeing. Morgan has played earlier for the RCB (in 2010) when Kohli was yet to become their captain. De Villiers, on the other hand, continues to be a major pillar of the RCB batting even after quitting international cricket last year.

Morgan’s value is high at the moment after he led England to their maiden World Cup win in the 50 overs at home in July. He last played in the IPL in 2017 when he represented the Kings XI Punjab. He went unsold last time but his World Cup triumph might see the cricketer, one of the most prolific hitters in the limited-over formats with a T20I strike rate of 130-plus, to make a comeback.
