The Gujarat Titans unveiled their official team jersey for IPL 2022 which gets underway on March 26. The new entrants would be geared up for a memorable tournament after having made some smart and important buys at the two-day mega auction in Bengaluru last month. Lately, the franchise also named their net bowlers and one of them also happens to be a seasoned bowler.
As per reports, GT have roped in the likes of left-arm pacer Barinder Sran and senior pacer Mohit Sharma as their net bowlers vefire the upcoming season. Both the bowlers found no takers at the IPL 2022 mega auction. The report also states that the two pacers helped the players in preparing for this year’s Indian Premier League at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
However, the passionate cricket fans were in disbelief after knowing that Mohit Sharma, who used to be CSK’s star player at one point in time, is now a net bowler. Here’s how they reacted.

Mohit Sharma has represented the Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), and Delhi Capitals in IPL. In fact, he also won the Purple Cap during the 2014 edition, having bagged 23 wickets from 16 matches at an economy rate of of 8.39. The Haryana cricketer has 92 scalps to his name from 86 IPL matches.
The 33-year-old was also a part of the Indian squad that reached the finals of the ICC World T20 2014 in Bangladesh and the semifinals of the 2015 World Cup that was co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Sran, on the other hand, was a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in their victorious 2016 campaign and had castled an in-form Virat Kohli in the final for 54, which proved to be the turning point of the contest. While the duo did not attract any bid during the mega auction, they would be hoping to play as replacement options in case they happen to get a chance for the same.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans will begin their IPL 2022 campaign against the other new entrants, Lucknow Super Giants, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 28.
