It is a special day for the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, as he celebrates 15 years in international cricket. Rohit made his debut on June 23, 2007, against Ireland in Belfast during an ODI match. Back then, he did not get an opportunity to bat in his debut game, but now he has become the batter without whom Team India looks incomplete.
Rohit was named India’s all-formats captain earlier this year as he succeeded Virat Kohli for the post. Since stepping into the role, he has not lost any match while leading India. One of the finest batters in the current era, Rohit has 15,733 career international runs in 400 matches across the three formats, alongside multiple awards and recognition to his name.
On this special day, Sharma penned down a heartfelt note thanking everyone who has supported him throughout the 15 years in some or the other capacity. He shared a note on his social media handle with the caption “15 Years in my favorite jersey.”
“Hello everyone. Today I’ll be completing 15 years of international cricket since I made my debut for India. What a journey it has been, surely one that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. I just want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey and a special thanks to the people who helped me become the player that I am today. To all the cricket lovers, fans, and critics, your love and support for the team is what gets us over those hurdles we all inevitably come across. Thanking you, RS,” read the post.

Sharma prepares to lead Team India against England
Rohit Sharma is currently with the Indian side in England for the upcoming one-off rescheduled Test match followed by an ODI and T20I series.
