England registered a thumping victory against South Africa in the second game of the four-match Test series by a margin of 189 runs. It was a big moment for the Three Lions as they got off to a great start to 2020 in the longer format. However, they had to face the heat of the fans and cricketing fraternity for their on-field behaviour against Proteas on the final day of the Test.

The visitors successfully managed to take a mammoth lead against hosts by a margin of 437 runs. And it never looked an easy task for Proteas to go past that score on the last day of the Test. Hence, they showed a defensive approach in their game and it was pretty evident by the way they were facing the opposition bowlers.

Every Proteas batsmen in the lineup was giving their best to just defend and spend as much time on the wicket as it was possible. This was the main reason that Pieter Malan, the debutant played took 288 balls to play a knock of 84 runs. However, the frustration was piling up in the English camp with the fear that they might fail to register a victory. And, it certainly forced the English to choose the sledging route during the game.

The controversial instance in the match happened when Vernon Philander (8 runs off 51 balls) was on the strike. He played a stroke towards mid-off and was gearing up to face the next ball of Dom Bess. In the meantime, Jos Buttler was spotted chirping some cuss words that were picked up by the stump-mic. Even Philander got angry and he stared England wicketkeeper for a while at the same time.

Soon, Buttler’s clip of uttering foul words to Proteas player went viral due to which he was brought under the scanner of fans and many other cricketing greats. Now, Harsha Bhogle, the famous Indian commentator feels that what a poor act was committed by Jos Buttler in the second Test. He took to his Twitter handle and wrote in his post that read, “What a pity.” Even there are chances that Buttler will have to face a severe penalty from ICC for his unacceptable behaviour.
