Former India cricketer Suresh Raina has been in the news ever since he pulled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season last week. He returned to India on Saturday and home quarantined himself in Delhi. There were reports of him not being happy about his hotel room even as CSK boss N Srinivasan‘s comments on him went viral. However, the latter offered full support to Raina later on Monday evening.
At the same time, it was reported that his family in Punjab was attacked recently and his uncle was killed in it. Suresh Raina has opened up on it now on his official Twitter handle stating that the incident was extremely horrible. He also stated that one of his cousins who was severely injured also passed away on Monday while his aunt is battling and is on life support.
“What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had sever injuries. Unfortunately my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support,” his tweet read.

Suresh Raina urges Punjab Police to look into the matter
Meanwhile, Suresh Raina has also urged the Punjab Police to look into the matter while he also tagged the Chief Minister of the state Capt. Amarinder Singh. He feels, as family, they at least deserve to know what transpired on the night of incident and doesn’t want the criminals to be spared at all.
“Till date we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I request @PunjabPoliceInd
to look into this matter. We at least deserve to know who did this heinous act to them. Those criminals should not be spared to commit more crimes @capt_amarinder @CMOPb,” Raina tweeted.
Amidst all the speculations, this personal loss seems to be one of the major reasons for the Delhi cricketer to pull out of the IPL and reportedly, he is expected to visit the village soon after his quarantine ends.
