Veteran South African pacer Dale Steyn is one of those cricketers who loves to interact with fans and on lighter notes. The 35-year-old who recently became his country’s highest wicket-taker in Tests, bettering the result of Shaun Pollock, is known for active engagement on Twitter and on Thursday, he had a funny conversation with a fan.
Steyn took to Twitter to ask the fans a few questions since he was free for about 10 minutes. Ankur Sharma from Uttar Pradesh used the opportunity to ask the bowler what will be his response if India wanted to promote him as their bowling coach. A witty Steyn replied saying “They better pull out the credit card” and his answer left everyone amused.

Steyn, who recently made a comeback to international cricket after a long injury break, picked 15 wickets in the Test and ODI series against Pakistan that concluded on Wednesday. The bowler has 683 international wickets in all since he made his debut along with former SA skipper AB de Villiers in 2004.
Steyn, who looks set to lead the South African bowling attack for one last time in the upcoming World Cup, was asked various other questions by the fans in the 10 minutes that he was free and on most occasions, his replies were fun-filled.
One fan, for example, asked him whether he wore Jimmy Anderson’s pyjamas to which Steyn said he sold them out on Amazon. He also said his fastest delivery was yet to come and that he was feeling good physically after playing three ODIs against Pakistan.
