What makes Bangladesh Premier League season 5 the most exciting

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will begin on the 4th of November with just a day to go from the start of the opening game. The previous four seasons have seen a rapid growth in the level of competitiveness and participation in the tournament, from a minor one in the first season to a globally recognized one now.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is trying its best to bring charm into the 5th edition of the tournament. The main aim of the organisers this time around is to make the tournament more vibrant and colourful. There will be a lot of new aspects to witness for the spectators and fans this time around.

The first times in BPL

After a gap of one year a team from the Sylhet region, Sylhet Sixers has been included in the league this season. Though this is not the first franchise from the region but this will be the maiden outing for the Sixers. And for the first time, their franchise owner is also from Sylhet.

Barisal Bulls, however, are excluded from the tournament after failing on financial terms and conditions. A new rule change this time ensures that every franchise gets a chance to field five foreigners instead of the usual four.

New broadcaster and a new venue

Gazi TV (GTV) is the official broadcaster of the BPL 2017, and for the first time, they will telecast the tournament live for the Bangladeshi spectators. GTV bought three years broadcasting rights for 640 crores with Channel Nine being the previous broadcasters of the tournament.

They will be played at three venues this time. The new entree to the hosting list is the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium which will be hosting the league for the very first time.

BPL is going to introduce state of the art digital perimeter board in the stadiums this season on. In all it promises to be an exciting contest and a lot to watch out for the fans.
