When and Where to Watch England vs Pakistan Live Streaming, Match Preview, Timings, and Pitch Report for 1st T20I
Hasan Ali is set to miss to the first match due to leg sprain.
Pakistan and England are all set to lock horns in the three-match T20I series, starting July 16. The opening match is scheduled to take place at Trent Bridge in Nottingham and both teams will want to get off to a winning start.
In the ODIs, the Three Lions were far more dominant. The hosts beat Pakistan 3-0 despite not having their key players due to the COVID-19 turmoil. For the 50-over format, the home team has their main players back.
The visiting team didn’t have the greatest of outings in the ODIs as both their bowling and bowling units looked clueless. In the final game at Edgbaston, Pakistan scored in excess of 300, but their efforts went in vain after James Vince’s century.
But keeping in that T20 cricket is a different ballgame, Babar Azam’s men would be looking for a comeback. Needless to say, the Brits will start as the favourites.
Playing Combinations for ENG vs PAK
England
Jason Roy and Jos Buttler should return to opening the batting. The return of Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan means that the middle-order has also been strengthened. Lewis Gregory should get a chance, especially how he performed in the ODI series with both bat and ball. The same should be the case for Saqib Mahmood, who was exceptional in the ODIs. The others need to step up as well.
Predicted XI
Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan (C), Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Lewis Gregory, Chris Jordan, David Willey, Saqib Mahmood, Adil Rashid
Bench: Liam Livingstone, Tom Curran, Tom Banton, Matt Parkinson, Jake Ball
Pakistan
Pakistan won’t be having the services of Hasan Ali, who has been ruled out of the first T20I due to a leg strain. Mohammad Rizwan has scored an average of over 100 in his last 11 outings in T20Is and a lot will depend on Babar Azam as well. In the bowling department, Shaheen Shah Afridi should lead the pace attack. In Hasan’s absence, young pacer Mohammad Hasnain should get an opportunity.
Predicted XI
Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Babar Azam (C), Mohammad Hafeez, Sharjeel Khan, Sohaib Maqsood, Mohammad Nawaz/Imad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain
Bench: Azam Khan, Arshad Iqbal, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Usman Qadir, Sarfaraz Ahmed
