The three-match ODI series between Australia and West Indies is currently level at 1-1. The Aussies won the opening game after Mitchell Starc picked up a five-wicket haul to rock the hosts’ batting unit. Australia won the match by 133 runs- DLS Method- after the game had to be curtailed due to rain.

In the second match, the Caribbean unit made an incredible comeback, winning by four wickets with as many as 72 balls to spare. The home team found themselves in trouble after getting reduced to 72/5 while chasing 192. However, Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder came to the part thereafter.

The Aussies too had a tough time with the bat. The third and final ODI of the series is scheduled to take place on July 26 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The pitch has been a tough one for the teams, batting second and hence, chasing can be avoided in the all-important deciding contest.

Playing combination for WI vs AUS

West Indies

Nicholas Pooran got a half-century in the previous game and he should be pretty high on confidence. Pollard and Holder have also done well with the bat in hand in the series. In the bowling department, Hayden Walsh Jr is in excellent form, having picked up a five-wicket haul last time around. Alzarri Joseph and left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein have picked up five wickets each.

Predicted XI

Evin Lewis, Shai Hope (WK), Darren Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Jason Mohammed, Kieron Pollard, Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein, Sheldon Cottrell, Hayden Walsh Jr

Bench: Roston Chase, Romario Shepherd, Anderson Phillip, Fabian Allen

Australia

Alex Carey is not only Australia’s top run-scorer but also the leading run-getter of the series. He scored a fifty in the first game, but failed in the second. The other batters need to show a bit more consistency going forward. Mitchell Starc is the leading wicket-taker in the series with eight scalps from two games. The other bowlers need to lend him the apt support in the last match of the series.

Predicted XI

Ben McDermott, Josh Philippe, Mitchell Marsh, Ashton Turner, Alex Carey (C and WK), Matthew Wade, Moises Henriques, Mitchell Starc, Wes Agar, Adam Zampa, Riley Meredith

Bench: Aaron Finch, Ashton Agar, Daniel Christian, Mitchell Swepson, Jason Behrendorff, Andrew Tye, Josh Hazlewood
