Before making his debut in international cricket with the senior India team, the Ranchi stalwart appeared in a tri-series involving India A, Pakistan A, and Kenya in 2004. As per the reports, a Pakistan cricketer was fielding near the ropes, and he got involved in chit-chat with an Indian girl from the audience. The duo planned a romantic date post that match which got washed off due to Dhoni’s epic six over the boundaries.

The ace batsman hit a stunning six in the same region where the girl was sitting, and it hurt the girl’s forehead. According to Cricbuzz, she was immediately attended by the paramedics on the ground, and the date obviously stood canceled after this unfortunate incident.

Dhoni played the tri-series as a replacement for Dinesh Karthik

Dhoni dominated that tri-series with his bat, where he scored  two hundreds, and both came against Pakistan. Being called as a replacement for Dinesh Karthik, the Ranchi hero amassed a score of 362 runs with a striking average of 72.40 in the same series. Karthik got a call from the senior team, and ace opener Gautam Gambhir was also part of this tri-series in Kenya.
