A cricketer does not experience sensational highs every time in his career. There are also times when a cricketer goes through a rough patch and is not able to perform at the level that he expected he will. KL Rahul is an extremely talented batsman and is a key member of the Indian cricket team.

Rahul experienced a disastrous start to his Test career, as he could score just 4 runs in both innings put together in his debut Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground against Australia. The right-hander stated that after his debut match, he was extremely dejected with his personal performance.

And, that was when Virat Kohli’s then-girlfriend and current wife, Anushka Sharma came over to his room and told him to join her as well as her husband Kohli for dinner.

“Both of them (Anushka and Virat) have been very good to me and I have a great story to tell you. Anushka was there to watch the Melbourne match. She could see that I was down and dejected (with personal performance) while my thoughts were all over. Anushka came to my room and told me she isn’t going to let me sit alone and think about cricket and added that she and Virat are going to take him out,” said KL Rahul on the show Open House with Renil.

KL Rahul is a part of the Indian squad for the Test series against England

KL Rahul has traveled a long way since his Test debut and has scored over 2000 runs in the whites for his country. He is also a part of the Indian squad that will take on England in a five-match Test series that will commence on 4th August at Nottingham.

Virat Kohli will lead his troops in what promises to be a challenging as well as an enticing Test series ahead. India will enter the Test series against England after experiencing defeat in the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand, as the Kane Williamson-led Kiwi side walloped India with 8 wickets to spare in the summit clash.
