Two of the biggest cricketing names in Indian history, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have a lot of similarities in terms of success. In fact, if Sachin’s records are to be broken in the game, Kohli is one of the very few cricketers who is close to it. While Sachin dominated the game in his prime, Kohli has followed his footsteps as well and the latter has truly been one of the best batters in the modern era.

Kohli first excelled in the U-19 World Cup for India where he marshalled his troops to victory and soon was called up to the Indian side as well. He made his international debut in 2008 and no wonder, he was nervous in the Indian dressing room where a lot of established cricketers including the ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar were present.

Also, the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and Munaf Patel were into pranks and young Kohli fell into the trap as well. In a video posted by Sportskeeda recently, a story on how Kohli got pranked by the Indian team was narrated when he first came into the international scene.

Here’s the video of the story around Virat Kohli

According to the video, the four players had told Kohli that it is mandatory to get blessings from Tendulkar by bending down and touching his feet. Kohli had believed that it was a tradition to do so and fell into the trap set by the four pranksters.

When Kohli tried getting blessings by bending down, Tendulkar immediately stopped him and the former was enquired if was he told to do so. When Tendulkar came to know the prank, both could not stop their laughter and it meant that Kohli got a secure feeling around the legend.

Since then, Virat Kohli has gone on to score 70 international centuries and is nearing Tendulkar’s tally of 100 centuries in international cricket which was believed to be an unbreakable record. However, the 33-year-old has been going through a rough patch in the last couple of years and will be looking to regain his golden touch soon.
