Who's better between Virat Kohli and Joe Root? Sarfraz Ahmed responds
A couple of days back, the Pakistani skipper Sarfraz Ahmed on a news show was asked to pick one out of Virat Kohli and Joe Root.
There might be a lot of bitterness among the fans of India and Pakistan, but it isn’t the same among the players as the Indian and the Pakistani players have often been seen praising each other on public platforms. A couple of days back, the Pakistani skipper Sarfraz Ahmed attended a news show on Geo Super and was asked to pick one out of Virat Kohli and Joe Root.
Sarfraz picked Virat Kohli ahead of the England skipper saying both are pretty accomplished batsmen and there’s not too much of difference between them in terms of batting abilities, Virat simply is ahead due to his supreme fitness is at the top of his list.
Sarfraz and Virat had come across each other as opposing captains twice in the Champions trophy earlier this year and had the better of each other once each. However because Sarfraz had an upper hand in the final of the Champions trophy where Pakistan had thumped India by a margin of 180 runs, he was the named the captain of the team of the tournament announced by the ICC.
Virat in the league of his own
Virat has been having a great run both as a player and as a captain in the last couple of years. The only blemish that he has had his CV so far as a captain is that loss in the Champions Trophy final. Apart from that, almost every series that he has captained India in, he has ended up winning it and he has been leading from the front scoring heaps of runs with the bat in all formats of the game.
Kohli has now a total of 56 hundreds in international Cricket at just 29 years of age. Fitness permitting, he can easily play for 8-10 more years and possibly can break most of the batting records in the game.
