Who's filling up Mayanti Langer's place for IPL 2020?

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just two days away from getting underway. The opening game is set to be played between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Abu Dhabi. It has been a long wait since the 12th season ended and after a delay of close to six months, the IPL will be finally played this year under extra-ordinary circumstances.

While it will be a new experience of everyone involved, a familiar face associated with the cash-rich league will be missed this season. The popular cricket presenter Mayanti Langer won’t be seen anchoring in any of the shows during the IPL this time around. Star Sports announced a full list of anchors for the whole season and the reasons for her absence are still unknown.

However, a number of new faces are added to the list this time around who will be gracing the IPL. The likes of Jatin Sapru, Anant Tyagi, Sanjana Ganesan and Suhail Chandok have been there before and will be once again taking up the job.

Who are the new faces?

Star Sports has signed a popular Australian TV presenter Neroli Meadows for the upcoming IPL season while the rest of them Suren Sundaram, Kira Narayanan, Nashpreet Kaur, Tanya Purohit and Dheeraj Juneja. Sundaram has done it before and was the anchor for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) previously as well. He has been working with Star Network since last year.

Kira, on the other hand, is an Indian film and theatre actress. Apart from her different roles, she is also known for being a sports anchor. Tanya Purohit too is coming from more or less a similar background. She is also an actress who works in Bollywood and featured in Anushka Sharma-starrer NH-10. Dheeraj Juneja has also worked with various TV channels as a host before and is experienced in anchoring. In Mayanti Langer’s absence, the cricket fans will get to see a whole new team working in the IPL this year.
