The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has one of the biggest fanbase in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Though the team hasn’t won even a single IPL title in 12 years, the players which the franchise possesses in the team makes it one of the strongest in the tournament. Having Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the same team is a luxury and once even Chris Gayle was also the part of the RCB.
But them not winning the coveted trophy has been the biggest puzzle for cricket experts and the fans. ‘Ee saala Cup namde’ (This year cup is ours) was the tagline which went viral ahead of IPL 2018 when RCB really looked like winning the tournament. But what transpired later was utter disappointment and the poor show continued even in the 2019 season.
Rather the puzzle of the franchise not winning the IPL even once is even troubling the players from the other teams it seems. David Warner, on Friday, asked Rohit Sharma the reasons for the Virat Kohli-led side not winning the T20 tournament yet during the live session and the Mumbai Indians skipper blatantly said he really doesn’t know. “I really don’t know about that,” he said while responding to Warner during the chat.
Rohit Sharma feels RCB got a balanced team for IPL 2020
Rohit Sharma, however, also termed it as unfortunate while also stating that the RCB did have a brilliant team for the 13th edition of the IPL. Moreover, he also revealed that MI’s team meeting lasts for almost two hours every time they have a match against the RCB. Rohit termed the franchise’s batting line-up as unreal and said that they plan for RCB more than any other team.
“Its unfortunate (not winning the IPL) but they have got a balanced team this year. Honestly speaking, we plan for RCB more than any other team because of their batting line-up. Their batting line-up is just unreal man. Our team meeting goes up to around couple of hours,” the MI skipper further said. Rather even David Warner went on to say that the RCB is having the best team in the IPL for around 10 years now.
