After a string of poor performances in the last few games, Bangladesh made a come back in the 1st ODI against West Indies. However, they failed to replicate the same kind of success in the 2nd ODI. Despite coming so close to winning the game, they failed to pull it off. West Indies managed to hold their nerve in the crunch situations of the game and managed to win a thriller of a game. Hence, the series is now levelled at 1-1 and we will have an interesting decider that will be played on Saturday.
Bangladesh won the toss in this game and opted to bowl first. After being put into bat first, West Indies lost 3 wickets early in the game. The openers failed to put together a good partnership. While Chris Gayle got out after scoring 29 runs, Evin Lewis only managed to score 12 runs. But then, Shimron Hetmyer who came in at No 4 scored an amazing century. He scored 125 runs and with the help of a 44 from Rovman Powell, Windies got to 271 but were bowled out under 50 overs. Rubel Hossain picked 3 wickets in the innings.
Chasing this target down, Bangladesh got off to a flyer. Anamul Haque scored 23 off just 9 balls to get the team to the ideal start. Yet again, Tamim Iqbal was as reliable as ever. Tamim scored 54 runs but that came off 85 balls. With Shakib Al Hasan at the other end, who scored 56 off 72 balls, these two added almost 100 runs together but took a lot of time putting the pressure on the other batsmen towards the end. The asking rate was high. But, Bangladesh still kept themselves interested in the chase. However, they faltered in the tough situation falling short of West Indies’ total by just 3 runs.
Tweeple were delighted with the result of the game. Right from praising Shimron Hetmyer for his unbelievable century under pressure to Bangladesh’s efforts, Twitterati couldn’t stop themselves from talking about the game. There were also talks about the outfield which was relatively slow this game.

Shimron Hetmyer, deservedly, gets the Man of the Match award
He's now the youngest Windies batsman to score a ODI hundred in the Caribbean

Shimron Hetmeyer is such a good player, I cannot wait for the West Indies' Cricket Board to mess things with him and then drop him. #WIvBAN

Bangladesh will struggle a lot in LOI after Shakib,Mushfiq and Tamim. All these yeare and not a single youngster has rose up. Y'day's match was perfect reflection. If one other youngster had contributed, Ban would've won the game. #WIvBAN

#MushfiqurRahim celebrating in advance & #SakibalHasan crying , the only common event between the above 2 incident is @BCBtigers losing in the last ball of the match. #WIvBAN
