India outmuscled hosts West Indies in the third T20I at St. Kitts on Tuesday, August 2, to go 2-1 up in the five-match series on the back of Suryakumar Yadav’s masterclass. India’s very own Mr. 360 put on a show with the bat as the visitors chased down a challenging total with relative ease. He was later seen signing autographs and clicking selfies with the fans, leaving social media in awe.

West Indies set Rohit Sharma’s men a target of 165 runs on a sticky surface at Warner Park. The Indian team were off to a brisk start before losing the skipper to a back spasm. Suryakumar Yadav, who has been one of the designated openers in the series so far, was joined by Shreyas Iyer at the crease, but it was the former who didn’t give the Caribbean bowlers a moment of respite with his outrageous stroke-making abilities.

The 31-year-old recorded a terrific half-century off just 26 deliveries and finished with 76 off 44 deliveries, almost ensuring India’s victory in the match. The Indian batting ace was seen interacting with the fans after his match-winning performance and clicked selfies with the spectators in an endearing video shared by BCCI’s official Twitter handle. The Mumbai Indians star was adjudged the Player of the Match for his marvellous batting effort, which saw him climb up to second place in the ICC Rankings for T20I batters, just behind Pakistan’s Babar Azam. SKY, as commonly referred to by his teammates, stated that he intended to bat deep into the innings and ensure India’s victory in the match, in the post-match presentation after being adjudged the Player of the Match.

“Really happy with the way things went. It was important for someone to bat 15-17 overs after Rohit went back inside. We saw yesterday what happened in the second innings. was important for someone to bat deep and win the game, that’s what I’ve focused on. Just backed myself and enjoyed it,” the Indian batter said after the match.
