WI vs PAK: Chris Gayle visits Pakistan dressing room to share a light moment with visitors
Chris Gayle was seen having a fun banter with the Pakistani players.
West Indies opener Chris Gayle is known to be a friendly and jolly person off the field. Often, he can be seen interacting with the opposition players and giving them inputs on how to improve their game. The southpaw this time around visited the dressing room of the Pakistan team, after the completion of the T20I series. The Men in Green won the rain-marred series 1-0.
There was not much cricket played between the two teams and hence Gayle decided to add some fun element by going to the visitors’ dressing room and spoke to a few of their players. In a video posted by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) the southpaw was seen being his usual self, having some fun banters with the opponent players such as Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Pakistan skipper Azam was seen interacting with dashing West Indian player Nicholas Pooran and the duo shared some thoughts about the game and series in general. Azam was also spotted carrying a West Indian jersey, which many speculate was for all-rounder Dwayne Bravo who apparently played his last T20I game on home soil.
Although Bravo could not get a fitting farewell on his home soil Guyana, he still is the leading wicket-taker for West Indies in the shortest format scalping 76 wickets. The rain had its say continuously on the four matches and, barring the second game, all the other three T20Is had no result. But all is not last as the teams will battle it out in a two-match Test series which starts on August 12.
West Indies and Pakistan set to resume their rivalry in Test format
The two-match Test series between these two teams promises to be a fascinating affair owing to the team’s unpredictability factor. Both West Indies and Pakistan tend to play one game better and then the very next match, they tend to show no fight. Hence predicting a clear winner is difficult from the outset.
The last time Pakistan and West Indies met in a Test series was in 2017, where the latter agonizingly lost the match and enabled the former to tie the series 1-1. It was also the last Test match for Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan. Now Haq will be seen in action but as a head coach of Pakistan.
