Pakistan hardly put a foot wrong on day four of the second Test match versus West Indies in Kingston. Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was the star performer with the bowl in hand as picked up six wickets and bowled out the home team for just 150. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam had enough time left on day four and he decided to take advantage of it by allowing the batters to play aggressively.
The top-four batters from Pakistan duly obliged to their captain’s call and briskly scored their runs. Senior batter Azhar Ali got into the action and started to unleash shots and was looking to take on the Windies bowlers. Just as he was set for a big score, part-time bowler Kraigg Brathwaite got the better of Ali as the batter could not connect a sweep.
Ali was looking to keep his bat down while playing the sweep, but this time, the moon ball from Windies skipper got the better of the batter for 22. Some late flourish from the Pakistani batters allowed Azam to declare on 176 setting, the hosts a steep target of 330 to chase on the fourth innings.

Pakistan on course with leveling the series
This dominating performance from the Men in Green has given them the confidence to go for a win on the fifth day of the Test match. With still 280 runs in the bank and with Afridi and Abbas looking in good form, Pakistan start as favorites on day five, provided if rain doesn’t play a spoilsport. Meanwhile, for West Indies, things are looking bleak at this point.
The batting came as a cropper in the first innings barring only Bonner and Blackwood, who contributed with 37 and 33 respectively. The rest of the batters struggled against Afridi’s pace, who was exceptional with his line and lengths. But all is not lost for the home team as they can take inspiration from their performance in the first Test match and can hope to give some tough fight in the fourth innings of the second and last Test match against Pakistan.
