West Indies Cricket Board President’s XI managed to draw the 2nd warm-up game against India after they played out the final day losing just 5 wickets. Resuming the day at 26/1 in 2nd innings, President’s XI posted 223/6 when the players of both the sides shook hands and agreed for the draw before the last hour of play.
The first breakthrough of the day was produced by Ravindra Jadeja as John Campbell holed out at mid-wicket to KL Rahul. Campbell was looking dangerous during his 59-ball stay scoring 31 runs with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Both the sixes he hit were off Jadeja’s bowling. Soon after that, Ravichandran Ashwin sent back Shai Hope who edged to Virat Kohli at short leg.
Jermaine Blackwood and Vishaul Singh tested the patience of the Indians playing long. Their 4th wicket stand valued 52 runs in 31 overs before a timely run out brought an end to Vishaul’s 39 off 101 balls with 5 fours and a six. Blackwood then shared a 42-run stand with Montcin Hodge for the 5th wicket.
Blackwood brought up his fifty in 142 balls with his 7th boundary but on the very next ball, he was beaten through his pads and was bowled by Ashwin.
