Wife of Ravichandran Ashwin has the most perfect message after India's win

Ravichandran Ashwin had made it a habit of being India’s superhero in Test match cricket. Over the past year or so, the off-spinner has gone on to break many records. It came as no surprise to see the offie win the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2016. The number one ranked bowler was under the scrutiny for not having bagged a five-for in his last 7 Test innings. He got to the landmark at a time when the team arguably needed it the most. A brilliant 6 wicket haul from Ravichandran Ashwin helped India bundle out Australia for a paltry 112 in the second innings at Bengaluru and thereby winning the match by 75 runs.

This was Ashwin’s 25th five wicket haul and in the process, he also became the fastest Indian to 200 wickets in India. Soon after the match, Ashwin shared a picture with pacer Ishant Sharma on the social media. He cited the key contribution Ishant made by hanging around with the bat in the second innings. He also lauded the efforts of Ishant for bowling his heart out. Ashwin tweeted, “This man 6 runs set us up today! Bowled his heart out too. Well done Ishy”.

Well, the tweet was indeed a very sweet gesture from Ashwin but his wife had an even more impressive tweet to come up with. During the course of the match, both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishant Sharma were seen animated at times as the situation at the center got intense. It was on day 2 when Ishant made faces while bowling to Steve Smith that saw him trending on the social media.

However, it was the send-off celebration of R Ashwin that went an inch better. When the offie managed to go through the defenses of Mitchell Starc, he gave him a send off by poking his finger on his forehead. Apparently, it was a revenge gesture after Starc had earlier done the same move after having bowled a short delivery to Abhinav Mukund during India’s second innings.

Ashwin’s wife, Prithi Ashwin, posted about the same on Twitter as she asked the two players to share their send off pics too. She also cautioned her husband not to poke his eyes while doing the move. She wrote, “Give us a pic with your respective send off faces. Please 🙂 @ashwinravi99. Oh just don’t poke your eyes while at it.”
