Former Bangladesh skipper, Mushfiqur Rahim was recently blessed with a baby boy. Rahim’s wife, Jannatul Kifayet gave birth to an adorable kid at the city’s Square Hospital at 9:30 am on 5th February. It was confirmed that both the child and mother were healthy. Rahim, who boarded a flight to Dhaka on Sunday evening after the Chittagong Test became a father the following day after the birth of his first child.

The Bangladesh team is currently hosting Srilanka for a Two-Test match series which will be followed by a two-match T20I series. The Chittagong Test ended in a draw as the Tigers battled hard on the last day to save the Test match. The second Test at Dhaka will start from February 8 and skipper Shakib Al Hasan is out of the second Test as well due to an injury.

Mushfiqur is currently enjoying the time-off he got between the two Tests with his son. The newly-crowned father came to see his wife and son after coming back from Chittagong Test, that ended on February 4. He is indeed a proud father and is enjoying spending time with his two-day-old son. He shared his happiness on social media platforms.

“Allah has blessed us with a little Angel and we request you to bless our baby with your warmth and prayer, please,” Rahim posted on Facebook. Mushfiqur addressed the press ahead of the second Test against Srilanka in Dhaka. He said that it was hard to express his feeling in words.

“Alhamdulillah. It feels good but it is hard to explain in words what I am feeling. Please pray for my wife and son so that they remain healthy and well,” Mushfiqur said at the press conference on Wednesday.

However, his son’s name is yet to be decided. But Mushfiqur has assured that his son’s name will be confirmed within the time of Aqiqua(Islamic tradition of the sacrifice of an animal on the occasion of a child’s birth). “We are still a bit confused regarding the name but we will decide on a name within the next seven days,” he concluded.
