'Will miss playing cricket with you brother' - David Warner has a heartwarming message for former SRH teammate Kane Williamson
Warner will be playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022.
Australian explosive batter David Warner on Wednesday shared a heartful note along with a series of photos for his former IPL teammate Kane Williamson on Instagram. The left-handed batter, also known as ‘pocket dynamite’ will return to the Delhi franchise after a long haul of 9 years.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had a fair run under the leadership of Warner including winning the 2016 IPL beating Royal Challengers Bangalore at their own turf. The left-handed batter was also awarded ‘Orange’ cap with the most runs in the tournament in 2019, 2017, and 2015, while captaining Hyderabad.
The former skipper of the franchise has now shared a heartfelt post for his former teammate Kane Williamson, who replaced him as the captain midway during the season in 2021. However, the former’s sudden sacking from the role meant he wasn’t retained by the Sunrisers ahead of the mega auction. Williamson and Warner were the backbones of the SRH batting order while doing the bulk of the scoring for the franchise.
Going to miss my breakfast time with you: David Warner
Warner on his Instagram handle said that he will miss having breakfast with him and playing cricket alongside him. “Going to miss my breakfast time with the Williamson’s and I will miss playing cricket with you brother!! #bromance #cricket #friends @kane_s_w.”
The left-handed had also said that he felt dejected after he was sacked as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021. Warner shares a great bond with the SRH fans and has shared several posts and reels on his social media platforms reminding him of the fond memories while playing for the franchise.
Warner, who last played for the Delhi side in 2013, had formed a fabulous opening combination with former India opener Virender Sehwag. He had a great time with the Capital-side scoring 1435 runs across five years with the franchise since his IPL debut in 2009, including nine fifties and two centuries.
Along with Warner, the Delhi Capitals also bought the likes of Mitchell Marsh, Kuldeep Yadav, Mandeep Singh, Rovaman Powell, Safraz Khan, KS Bharat, Khaleel Ahmed, Chetan Sakariya, and Lungi Ngidi at the mega auction.
