Delhi Capitals’ (DC) aggressive opener Prithvi Shaw has acknowledged the fact that his franchise has not begun their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on a very positive note. However, Shaw has said that several new teammates coming to DC camp will need some time to gel with the old members and get into their groove.
To note, the Capitals have lost three out of five matches in IPL 2022 so far and are currently placed at the number eight spot on the points table. The Capitals have lost their encounters against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Gujarat Titans (GT). However, they have also defeated five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
We are starting to understand and play concerning each other: Prithvi Shaw
Speaking in a video posted from the official YouTube account of DC, Shaw emphasized the fact that it will take one or two games for the players to have a better understanding among themselves.
“Now that 4-5 games are over, we are starting to understand how to play concerning each other. It is a new team this year with some new faces, so it will take a bit of time to get adjusted. In the two games that we won, we went in with good strategy and tactics. But I think we will need 1-2 more games to understand each other. So we have time to correct our mistakes and execute our roles from the next game,” Shaw said in the video.
I think this is just the start. Only five matches have been played and a lot of games remain. As a team, we need to work on a lot of things because as individuals, each one knows their role as the players are experienced,” Shaw added.
Meanwhile, DC is squaring off against Punjab Kings (PBKS) currently. The encounter is taking place at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Both teams will want to win the match and get themselves two vital points in the points table.
