After some enthralling cricketing action in the Caribbean Islands, the action between Bangladesh and Windies now shifts to the United States of America. Lauderhill, which previously hosted a high-scoring T20I game between India and Windies, will host this match and is expected to play a huge role in expanding the horizon of the game.

The first T20 encounter between the sides was a rain-marred affair, which went in favour of the hosts. Despite having some big names in the side, Bangladesh will not be entering a T20 contest against the Caribbeans as favourites and it’d be a stunning surprise if the Asian team manage to overhaul them.

Having said that, T20 cricket is a funny format and there’s scope for anything to materialize. Bangladesh are desperate for their top order to fire, which many believe is their main strength. Once the likes of Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar start scoring runs, this team will be a lot more confident to pull off a good result.

Pitch

The weather across the Lauderhill stadium has been pretty warm in the last few days. The pitch is expected to remain dry and another high-scoring thriller is definitely on cards. The Bangladeshi contingent will be happy to see a dry pitch as their spinners might get some grip. But if they don’t find any turn, a lot of records will be at stake.

Team Predictions

Windies

No changes are expected in the Windies starting lineup if not for some last-minute injuries. Evin Lewis has been a stellar performer for their side in the shortest format and he once again will be opening alongside Andre Fletcher. Their middle order is a great mixture of talent and experience which includes the likes of Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, and skipper Carlos Brathwaite.

Samuel Badree’s four overs will be pivotal for the hosts. Ashley Nurse will be the second spinning option alongside seam-bowling all-rounders, Russell and Brathwaite. Kesrick Williams and Keemo Paul will be leading the fast bowling contingent.

Predicted XI

Evin Lewis, Andre Fletcher, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Rovman Powell, Carlos Brathwaite (C), Keemo Paul, Ashley Nurse, Samuel Badree, Kesrick Williams

Bangladesh

Liton Das and Tamim Iqbal will open the innings for the Tigers, with Soumya Sarkar coming in at 3. Sarkar hasn’t been in great touch in recent times, but he will be making it to the playing XI going by his experience. Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah and Shakib will be crucial to help their team get a big score.

Mehidy Hasan and Shakib will be forming the nucleus of their bowling attack given they’re getting any turn. Mustafizur Rahman’s death over exploits will come in handy as Windies have some firepower in the middle order. Nazmul Islam and Rubel Hossain are the other two bowlers in the lineup.

Predicted XI

Liton Das, Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Shakib Al Hasan (C), Mahmudullah, Ariful Haque, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Nazmul Islam, Rubel Hossain

Probable top performers

Andre Russell – Windies, Mushfiqur Rahim – Bangladesh

The prediction is for Windies to win the game as their strength in the shortest format is too good for the Tigers.
