Preview

India dominated proceedings for most times in the opening Test at the Sir Vivan Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua. It was only when the visitors were reduced to 25 for three that the Caribbean team looked like being ahead of the match. Ajinkya Rahane played brilliantly and his knocks were backed by some superlative performances from the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma.

India also managed to get 60 points in the World Test Championship and they will be looking for 120 going into the second Test. As far as the hosts are concerned, their bowlers promised for a brief while, but the batting was a huge let-down, especially in the second innings. The Indian bowling is a seasoned one and the Windies won’t have it easy by any means even in the next encounter.

Weather Report

The weather in the morning of all the five days is expected to be good. But during the afternoon, the heavens may open up. Hence, there could be a few stoppages in play throughout. The temperature will be in the low 30s and the humidity isn’t something daunting.

Pitch Condition

Out of the last seven Tests at the venue, six produced results. In those games, runs were scored at a rate of 3.15, which shows that the strip has a lot for the batters. Like most of the venues, the deck in Jamaica deteriorates with the progression of the game. Hence, teams should opt to bat after winning the toss.
