India’s tour of the West Indies gets underway on August 3 with the opening T20I to be played at Lauderhill, Florida. The itinerary consists of a couple of more T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests. Guyana, Trinidad, Antigua and Jamaica are the other hosts for the one-month affair in the Caribbean Islands. After all the speculations, Virat Kohli is set to lead the Indian team in all the three formats.

The Men in Blue takes off for the United States of America (USA) on Monday, July 29 for the hectic tour. Their return to India after the conclusion of the final Test in Jamaica, scheduled to start on August 30, is also via the USA. In the meantime, it has been learned that the 30-year-old Kohli won’t be doing any pre-departure press conference before taking off for the tour

Rift between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

As per reports in India Today, the Delhi-born cricketer would be doing a promotional event on Monday morning, but won’t be taking any questions from the media. Of late, rumours surrounding a rift between Virat Kohli and limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma have been doing the rounds. It was a possibility that Kohli would’ve to face questions on the issue from the journalists.

They reportedly seemed to have disagreements over family time on international tours. Recently, Virat and the Indian coach have been given the mantle of deciding on any deviation in family time and the same could make things more complicated. Recently, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) has been asked to decide the travel schedule of WAGs.

The move agitated officials in the BCCI as well as former Chief Justice RM Lodha. As far as Rohit and Virat’s relationship is concerned, it seemed to have taken an ugly turn as the former has blocked Anushka Sharma, Virat’s wife, on Instagram. Earlier, Rohit also boycotted the Indian captain on social media.  Thereafter, Anushka posted a message on his Instagram story.

The post by the Bollywood actress seemed to be a message, directed towards Rohit. The vice-captain has maintained a silence on the matter. Both Virat and Rohit are fulcrums of the Indian team and need to be on top of their game as India has a long season ahead in the coming months.
