Brisbane Heat will be hoping to defend their WBBL title as they face Adelaide Strikers in the final of the WBBL 2019/20. This will be the first-ever WBBL final not involving Sydney Sixers as they finished 5th in this current edition. Both Brisbane and Adelaide won ten matches apiece in the league stage and occupied the top two spots. Brisbane were blessed by the consistency of Beth Mooney in batting and Jess Jonassen with the ball. Sophie Devine played both roles for the Strikers smashing 764 runs and claimed 18 wickets.

3 – Brisbane Heat is only the 3rd team in the WBBL to make it to the final in consecutive editions. Sydney Sixers qualified from the finals in each of the first four seasons. Perth Scorchers made it to the finals of 2016/17 and 2017/18 only to end up as runners up after losing to Sydney Sixers.


9 – Sophie Devine has nine fifties from 15 innings in the ongoing edition of WBBL. These are the most number of fifty-plus scores in a BBL edition across Men’s and Women’s tournament. In fact, only one player has recorded more than nine fifty-plus scores in any T20 competition thus far. Virat Kohli struck four centuries and seven half-centuries in the IPL 2016 across 16 innings.


18 – Sophie Devine is not only the leading run-getter of the WBBL 2019/20 but also the joint highest wicket-taker for the Adelaide Strikers in the current season. She has picked up 18 wickets at an average of 19.27 while Sarah Coyte also claimed 18 scalps at 20.94 thus far.


20 – Jess Jonassen’s 20 wickets in this tournament are the joint 2nd most by a Brisbane Heat player in a WBBL edition. Delissa Kimmince bagged 22 wickets in the 2018/19 edition while Sammy Jo-Johnson also took 20 wickets last season. Only Molly Strano (24) took more wickets than Jonassen in the current edition of WBBL.


25 – Beth Mooney has 25 fifty-plus scores in the WBBL including a hundred; five scores more than any other player. In the 74 WBBL games, the Brisbane Heat have witnessed 43 individual scores in excess of 50 with Mooney also scoring 25 of them.


30 – Win % of Adelaide Strikers in the WBBL against Brisbane Heat; the 2nd lowest for them against any team. The Strikers managed to defeat Brisbane only on three occasions including once this season. The Heat Women defeated the Adelaide franchise on six instances and once won a Super over.


777Ellyse Perry’s 777 runs in the WBBL during the 2018/19 season are the most runs by any player in a single edition of Big Bash League (Men/Women). Sophie Devine’s 764 runs and Beth Mooney’s 687 runs in this season are only behind Perry’s 777 in the list of most runs in any BBL edition. Devine is averaging 84.88 while Mooney has an average of 68.7 in the ongoing season.
