Women's Caribbean Premier League 2024 Schedule

The 2024 edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) is set to kick off on August 22 with defending champions Barbados Royals taking on Guyana Amazon Warriors at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. Trinbago Knight Riders is the other team to feature in the tournament and they will begin their campaign on August 23 against Barbados.

All three teams will be playing each other twice in a round-robin format. The top two teams after the league stage will qualify for the finals, which is slated to take place on August 30. Notably, all the matches in the tournament will be played in Trinidad.

Meanwhile, Veteran all-rounder Hayley Matthews will be leading Barbados while Deandra Dottin and Stafanie Taylor will be captaining Trinbago and Guyana, respectively. India internationals Jemimah Rodriguez and Shikha Pandey will be representing the Trinbago franchise in the upcoming edition as the franchise has also signed multiple World Cup-winning captain Meg Lanning and Jess Jonassen as well.

Chamari Athapaththu, Laura Harris and Georgia Redmayne will be key for Barbados while Guyana have built a terrific bowling unit which features the likes of Shabnim Ismail, Chloe Tyron and Erin Burns.

Since each team will be playing only four games in the league stage, all the matches hold massive importance. Usually, the spinners get massive help from the surface and the trend is likely to continue. More low-scoring affairs are expected but given the depth of each squad, all the teams have a fair chance at the trophy.
