Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 is all set for it’s third season as the five franchises are focused on putting up their best game. Five franchises that will battle it out against each other are Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians, UP Warriors, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians will be playing to defend their title as they won the 2024 and 2023 WPL edition respectively whereas the other three UP Warriors, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants will be keen to clinch this season’s title. Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Delhi Capitals to clinch the first ever title for the franchise combining IPL and WPL both.
A surfeit of stars from women’s cricket will feature in the upcoming edition of the WPL. WPL 2025 auction took place on Sunday, December 15 in Bengaluru with all the five franchises building their best squads. With most of the squad that was already set, a total of 19 players were sold out among the 124 were put under the hammer. Out of these five were overseas players with Mumbai Indians, RCB, Gujarat Giants and Delhi Capitals picked four players each while UP Warriors got three in their squad.
