Women's T20 Challenge 2022: Where to Watch, Schedule, squads, and all you need to know

The fourth edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge will be played between three teams and the tournament is set to begin on May 23 with the final being played on May 28. All four games will be held at the MCA Stadium, Pune. The BCCI recently announced Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Deepti Sharma as the captains of the three teams.

While Mandhana and Kaur continue their captaincy roles with their teams, Sharma will be new to the captaincy role as former skipper Mithali Raj will not be a part of the tournament. The defending champions Trailblazers will also feel the absence of veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami. A total of 12 overseas players, from Australia, England, the West Indies, and South Africa, will be participating in the tournament.

The tournament was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the host country, India, and thus will be making a return this year. After the Supernovas had bagged the championship title in the first two seasons, the Trailblazers had put a brake on their hat-trick dream by winning the third edition. Velocity, who hasn’t won a title so far, will be aiming to end the season on a high note. Notably, this will also be the season finale as the BCCI is set to conduct a six-team Women’s IPL from next year onwards.
