Australia claimed the Women’s Triangular T20I series as they defeated England by a huge 57-run margin in the tournament final. The trend of high scores continued as Australia posted a record 209/4 on board with help of an unbeaten 88 from their skipper Meg Lanning and a 51 from Elyse Villani. The pair took on the England bowlers and fielding by scoring 129 runs in the last ten overs. England failed to recover after early wickets as they ended up with only 152/9 in the reply.

All the stats and numbers that were recorded during the final game of the tournament:

3 – This game is only the 3rd tournament final played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Australians were the winning team in all the three games. The 2006 Champions Trophy was played at this venue between Australia and Windies while the same teams faced in the 2013 Women’s World Cup.

3 – Meg Lanning and Elyse Villani pair became the first in Women’s T20I cricket with three 100-run stands. This is the 5th time both the players were part of 100-run stands in this format. Suzie Bates (6) is the only other player to be part of five 100-run stands in Women’s T20Is.

27 – Balls Meg Lanning needed for completing her fifty in this game. This is the fastest known fifty by an Australian in Women’s cricket. Elyse Villani’s fifty in 28 balls in this game is the 2nd quickest for them in this format. The previous fastest fifty was off 29 balls by Leah Poulton against New Zealand in the 2011 Invercargill T20I.

32 – Australia’s 32 four during their innings are the most in a T20I inning (Men’s or Women’s cricket). Sri Lanka hit 30 fours during the 2007 WT20 game against Kenya. The previous highest in Women’s cricket is 26 fours by India against England and the same by Australia against India on consecutive days earlier in this tournament.

47 – The 47 fours in this game are the joint 2nd most in a Twenty20 International (Men’s / Women’s). The high scoring game between India and England in this tournament had 48 fours while the India-Sri Lanka Men’s T20I in 2009 at Nagpur witnessed 47 fours.

88* – Meg Lanning’s unbeaten 88-run knock is the highest individual score in a T20I final. She surpassed Marlon Samuel’s 85* against England in the 2016 WT20 final. This is also the 2nd highest individual score in a Women’s T20I knockout game behind Aimee Watkins’s 89* for New Zealand in the 2009 WT20 semis against India.

139 – The 139-run partnership between Meg Lanning and Elyse Villani is Australia’s the 2nd highest stand for any wicket in Women’s T20I format. Kate Blackwell and Karen Rolton put on an unbeaten 147 for the 4th wicket against England in the 2005 Taunton T20I.

209/4 – Australia’s total of 209/4 is the highest in Women’s T20I format. South Africa made 205/1 against the Netherlands in the 2010 Potchefstroom T20I. The match aggregate of 361 is the 2nd highest in Women’s T20I behind the 397 runs during the India-England T20I in this tournament.

215 – Danielle Wyatt ended the tournament as the leading run-getter with 215 runs in five innings. These are the most runs scored by an England player in a T20I series/tournament in Women’s cricket. She surpassed Charlotte Edwards’ tally of 202 runs in the 2016 edition of the Women’s WT20.
