Apart from Bangladesh, every other team from Group A has an opportunity to qualify for the semi-finals of the Women’s World T20 in the West Indies. Hosts Windies and England are currently unbeaten and are the strongest contenders from the group to progress to the next round. Sri Lanka have only one match left and another blemish on their part would pull the curtains down on their campaign.

South Africa are in the fourth position of the table and they would be disappointed after their defeat against Windies, but they have a couple of matches left and have a fair amount of opportunities to make into the top two teams. The matches will be played at Darren Sammy National Stadium, Gros Islet in St Lucia where the weather conditions have been a tad inconsistent over the last few days.

Here’s the prelude of what’s on offer on Day 8 of World T20:

Match 15- England vs South Africa

Danielle Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont are two of their most reliable players and a lot would depend on how the duo plays. The middle-order has the experience of Heather Knight and Natalie Sciver. The bowling lineup has the firepower and that was on display against Bangladesh at the same venue. The spinners would undoubtedly need to come to the party for England.

England Probable XI

Danielle Wyatt, Tammy Beaumont, Amy Ellen Jones (wk), Natalie Sciver, Heather Knight (C), Lauren Winfield, Anya Shrubsole, Sophia Dunkley Brown, Sophie Ecclestone, Linsey Smith, Kirstie Gordon

South Africa may replace Tumi Sekhukhane with all-rounder Robyn Searle, who played in the warm-ups. Lizelle Lee and Laura Woolvardt are the openers with Marizanne Kapp and Dane van Niekerk being the experienced heads in the middle order. Chloe Tyron, coming at number eight, adds depth to the batting. Klaas and Ismail are the pacers with Daniels and Niekerk as the spinners.

 South Africa Probable XI

Lizelle Lee (wk), Laura Wolvaardt, Robyn Searle, Marizanne Kapp, Dane van Niekerk (C), Sune Luus, Mignon du Preez, Chloe Tyron, Shabnim Ismail, Masabata Klaas, Moseline Daniels

Match Timings: 1:30 IST (November 17); 16:00 local (November 16)

Match 16- Windies vs Sri Lanka

Windies wouldn’t tinker with their winning combination and would be hoping to cement their position in the semis with their third victory. Matthews and Dottin will open the batting with skipper Stefanie Taylor to follow. All three also have the ability to run through a batting lineup. Afy Fletcher is the specialist spin-bowling option with Henry as the fast bowler.

Windies Probable XI

Hayley Matthews, Deandra Dottin, Stefanie Taylor (C), Shemaine Campbelle, Kycia Knight (wk), Natasha McLean, Britney Cooper, Chinelle Henry, Afy Fletcher, Shaker Selman, Shamila Connell

Yasoda Mendis and Hasini Perera will open the batting with Dilani Mandodara to follow. The likes of Chamari Athapaththu and Shashikala Siriwardene have to step up in the middle. Both are handy with the ball as well. Udeshika Prabodhani and Sripali Weerakkody are the fast bowlers with the spin-attack of Priyadarshini and Nilakshi de Silva as the spinners.

Sri Lanka Probable XI

Yasoda Mendis, Hasini Perera, Dilani Mandodara (wk), Chamari Athapaththu (C), Shashikala Siriwardene, Eshani Lokasuriyage, Nilakshi de Silva, Sripali Weerakkody, Oshani Ranasinghe, Inoshi Priyadharshani, Udeshika Prabodhani
