World cup 2015 Match 14 Group A Preview: Scotland vs England:
Date: Feb 23 2015 Time: 0330 IST
Venue: Christchurch
England
England has lost their first 2 matches against Australia and New Zealand and that too in humiliating fashion. New Zealand bowled them out for 123 runs and chased that target in just 12 overs. Their batting and bowling is not working at all and they wish that they would get their combination correct for the game against Scotland. Their stubbornness in not accepting the modern format of ODI is mind boggling. Alex Hales, the most exciting English batsman today is cooling his heels in the pavilion. Yet England is sticking to the opening combination that includes Ian Bell and Moeen Ali. Captain Eoin Morgan is still searching for that elusive form.
England is hopeful that they will gain some kind of form against neighbouring Scotland.
Scotland
Scotland lost the match against New Zealand fighting. Their batting didn’t stand up to a much better pace bowling and swinging conditions, but their bowlers made New Zealand batsmen think twice before playing with abandon. Scottish captain Preston Momsen will look forward to a better version of that fight against England on Monday.
They would hope to get a win on the biggest stage to emulate the success that Ireland are having at the moment. Such kind of a win will give Scotland enough inspiration to go ahead and play well against other big nations in their group and may be win more than a match.
