World Cup 2015 Match 25 Group B Pakistan v UAE Preview:
Date: 4 March 2015 Time: 0630 IST
Venue: Napier
Pakistan
Pakistan who won a close match against Zimbabwe will now face UAE in Napier, New Zealand. Even though their batting didn’t click as it should have against Zimbabwe and they could only score 235 runs, Pakistan can take hope from the fact that even their bowlers will contribute with bat while their batsmen continuously fail to make runs. The batsmen with caliber of Shehzad, Umar Akmal, Younis Khan, Nasir Jamshed threw away their wickets in search of aggression in the first 10 overs. They had Misbah and then Wahab Riaz who scored a fifty from number 8 to rescue Pakistan. Pakistan’s top order should use this match to get them back into some form before they face South Africa.
The bowling of Pakistan is good enough to win them matches but they have not got any support from their batting. Against UAE they will look to try the bench strength and give Mohd. Irfan some rest, since he has been the most in-form bowler for Pakistan.
UAE
UAE are coming off a dismal performance against India where they were bowled out for 102 runs in 50 overs and then lost the match by 9 wickets with 231 balls remaining.
They had done well against Ireland and almost won the match if it was not for Kevin O’Brien’s blistering 50. Their batting has the ability to handle the fellow associate nation bowlers but Indian bowling was too much for them to handle. It would be great to see how they handle the Pakistan pace bowlers. Batsman like Khurram Khan, Shaiman Anwar, Amjad Ali have to handle high quality pace bowling in Pakistan’s Wahab Riaz, Mohd. Irfan and Sohail Khan.
Their batting hope lies on Shaiman anwar and Khurram Khan. Anwar has been in form of lately and Khurram has the most experience in the team. Their bowling is good enough to pose trouble to the fragile Pakistani batting line-up and they would love to try and dismantle it with help of Mohd. Naveed, Mahd. Tauqir, Krishna Karate and Amjad Javed.
