World Cup 2019: 5 players who might not play the tournament
These players are currently struggling to make it count in the ODIs.
3. Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib Al Hasan would be gutted if he misses the World Cup in 2019. The 31-year-old has worked so hard to participate in the tournament and his performances this year were quite impressive. He played 12 ODIs, scored 402 runs at an average of 37 and picked 18 wickets. The all-rounder adds great balance to the side and gives the captain a luxury of going in with an extra batsman.
But it was this finger injury that he picked during the final of the tri-nation series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe which is creating terrors in the minds of the fans. He pulled out of the Asia Cup recently after aggravating it. Although the pus was removed out of the finger, the infection is still on. He cannot go under the knife before the injection isn’t gone completely as it could potentially damage his entire hand. This injury has put the World Cup participation next year under the clouds.
