World Cup 2019: A Pakistan fan’s angry reaction is going viral on social media
His reaction was for Asif Ali dropping Warner in the 37th over of the match.
When Pakistan defeated England in the ongoing World Cup, it was one of the best performances ever since they landed in the country almost one month ahead of the mega event. When they faced Australia, the same was expected from the Men in Green. But after winning the toss under overcast conditions in Taunton, the bowlers squandered the advantage and moreover, the fielders were lacklustre dropping the catches and also fumbling in the field.
No wonder it is tough for anyone to be a fan of Pakistan cricket team who themselves are unpredictable. Really, no one knows which Pakistan team will turn up on the day which makes them a threat to every other side in the World Cup. Pakistan fans had turned the Taunton in Green on the day but the fans were frustrated to see their bowlers go for runs in the first innings.
In the 37th over of the innings, Wahab Riaz created a chance with a short ball to David Warner who played it to the third man fielder. Asif Ali was stationed there who should’ve taken an easy catch but he fluffed much to the dismay of his teammates and the fans. One of the fans was captured on camera reacting to the catch then and hilariously, it went viral and even GIFs were prepared of his reaction.
The fan explains the reason
With even the ICC‘s Twitter handle not leaving a chance to troll the fan in a lighter way, the fan was trolled by the social media gimmicks. However, the ICC Digital Insider Zainab Abbas later managed to get an interview of the same fan asking him about the reaction which went viral on social media in minutes.
He then explained that he was expecting the catch at the third man to be taken and was frustrated at being dropped. “I could see it land in his hands and then he dropped it. It was really disappointing to see it happen just in front of me and I couldn’t say anything,” the man who is a London resident, said.
Here’s how he was trolled:
