India might not forget the Wednesday’s evening for the next couple of months as it was a heartbreaking loss for Virat Kohli’s men in the semi-final of the World Cup 2019. Chasing a target of 240 on a tricky pitch India were reduced to 71/5. Again it all came down to MS Dhoni who walked out to bat at No.7 carrying the hopes of semis berth.
With his side, MS Dhoni tried his tested formula of taking the game deep. This time Ravindra Jadeja had accompanied his former skipper. The duo was able to bring back the game in the balance with a century partnership but Jadeja perished at the wrong time. Then Dhoni took over but unfortunately, a direct hit from Martin Guptill saw the back of legend in Blue.
In the end, the cricketer who has taken the side to victory lanes from improbable situations fell short by an inch while attempting a second run in the penultimate over of the innings.
