World Cup 2019: Approaching milestones for the Australian players
All the major approaching milestones for the players of the defending champions Australia.
Not many had given Australia a chance to be anywhere close to winning the World Cup once again after their performances in the ODI format across 2017 and 2018. With a record worse than the lower ranked teams in this period, the Aussies looked in all sort of troubles in the absence of David Warner and Steve Smith. However, the series in India and against Pakistan brought back the confidence of the defending champions who will be taking the field at the ODI CWC with an 8-match winning streak.
All the major approaching milestones for the players of the defending champions Australia:
94 – Aaron Finch needs six more maximums to become the 5th player to hit 100 ODI sixes for Australia. Finch hit a total of 597 fours in International cricket and needs three more to reach the 600-mark.
145 – Number of wickets for Mitchell Starc in the 75 matches he played in the ODI format. Starc needs to pick five more wickets in the next two ODIs to break Saqlain Mushtaq’s (78) record of fastest to 150 wickets in the format. The left-arm seamer is also 11 wickets away from bagging 700 scalps in professional cricket having claimed 689 wickets till date.
1000 – Marcus Stoinis aggregated 963 runs in the ODI format thus far. He needs to score 37 more runs to become the 45th player to score 1000 ODI runs for Australia. Off-spinner Nathan Lyon needs four more runs to complete 1000 International runs having scored 996 runs till date.
1391 – Number of fours David Warner has hit across all formats for Australia. He needs nine more fours to become the 8th Australian to hit 1400+ fours in International cricket. Former Australian skipper Steve Smith needs 11 more fours for 300 ODI fours having hit as many as 289 thus far.
2747 – Shaun Marsh has scored 2747 runs in 70 innings in the ODI format so far. Shaun needs to score 253 more runs in the next 8 innings to become the quickest Australian to reach 3000 ODI runs. Glenn Maxwell is also closing on to this milestone with 2700 runs to his name.
6941 – The Australian skipper Finch needs 59 more runs to complete 7000 runs in List A cricket. During the recent ODI series in UAE, Finch completed 4000 ODI runs and 6000 International runs.
