World Cup 2019: Approaching milestones for the Bangladesh players
All the approaching milestones of the Bangladesh players to look out for at the CWC 2019.
Bangladesh geared up for the World Cup by recording their first ever victory in a knockout game as they thumped Windies and Ireland to win the Tri-Nation ODI series. The Bangladesh team have been quite consistent since the last World Cup giving a tough hand to the top teams. The team now has the experienced players who have played at least 2-3 editions of the World event. They will be aiming a top-four finish having made it to the quarters during the last edition.
All the approaching milestones of the Bangladesh players to look out for at the CWC 2019:
100 – The first match that Soumya Sarkar (99) plays at the 2019 CWC will be his 100th International game for Bangladesh. Rubel Hossain (97) will play his 100th ODI for Bangladesh in his 3rd game at this World Cup.
200 – Shakib Al Hasan (198) and Tamim Iqbal (193) need to feature in a minimum of two and seven matches respectively at the CWC to complete 200 ODI appearances. Only Mashrafe Mortaza (207) and Mushfiqur Rahim (205) have represented Bangladesh in more than 200 ODI games so far.
249 – Shakib Al Hasan needs one more wicket to become the 2nd Bangladesh player to bag 250 ODI wickets after Mashrafe Mortaza. Mahmudullah also needs one more wicket for becoming the 7th player to claim 150 International wickets for Bangladesh.
300 – Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza (297) and all-rounder Mahmudullah (296) are three and four appearances away respectively from featuring in their 300th International game for Bangladesh. Mortaza actually featured in 299 Internationals as he played two ODIs for Asia XI.
Only Mushfiqur Rahim (348), Shakib Al Hasan (325) and Tamim Iqbal (322) have represented Bangladesh in 300+ Internationals thus far.
3000 – Soumya Sarkar (2971) and Mashrafe Mortaza (2912) are close to completing 3000 runs in International cricket as they need 29 and 88 runs respectively. Only 11 players have aggregated 3000+ runs in International cricket for Bangladesh thus far.
11000 – Shakib Al Hasan needs five more runs to complete 11000 runs in International cricket for Bangladesh having scored 10995 runs till date. Mushfiqur Rahim is also nearing the same milestone as he amassed 10702 runs so far. Only Tamim Iqbal (12519) has scored more than 11000 International runs for Bangladesh ahead of CWC.
