World Cup 2019: Approaching milestones for the England players

England is hopeful about ending their wait to clinch the ODI World Cup title given how the things have shaped for them in the last couple of years. The Eoin Morgan-led team has remodelled their approach in this format that has helped them to post big totals and capture the top spot in the ODI rankings. England has been unbeaten in the bilateral ODI series at home since the start of 2016 and has lost only once at home since losing to Pakistan in the 2017 Champions Trophy semis.
All the approaching milestones of the No.1 ranked ODI team players ahead of the CWC 2019 at home:
100 – The England openers Jonny Bairstow (94) and Jason Roy (91) inch closer to 100 sixes in International cricket as they are six and nine short for the milestones. Moeen Ali (89) also needs 11 sixes to complete 100 sixes across all format. Only eight players have hit 100+ sixes in International cricket for England till date.
188 – Jos Buttler needs 12 more maximums to complete 200 sixes in International cricket. Eoin Morgan (258) is the only player to smash 200+ sixes in Internationals for England so far.
189 – Eoin Morgan has hit 189 sixes in his ODI career thus far with 171 of them for England and 18 for Ireland. He will be the first player from Europe and overall the 8th to hit 200 ODI sixes if he smashes 11 more maximums.
200 – The opening game of the World Cup 2019 will be Morgan’s 200th ODI appearance for England. He will be the first player to feature in 200 ODIs for the Brits. Morgan featured has in 222 ODI matches till date including 23 for Ireland.
6648 – Jonny Bairstow needs 352 more runs to complete 7000 runs in International cricket. His opening partner Jason Roy is 319 runs away from 4000 International runs.
6977 – Morgan needs 23 more runs to become the first player from Europe to amass 7000 runs in the ODI cricket. He has scored 6233 runs for England and 744 runs for Ireland in this format.
Overall, Morgan has scored 8743 runs in International cricket for England. He needs 257 more runs to become the 14th player with 9000 International runs for England.
12878 – Joe Root needs 122 more runs to complete 13000 runs in International cricket. Root will become the 6th player to aggregate 13000 runs in International cricket for England when he scores those 122 runs.
