The “Big Show” is a nightmare for opposition bowlers on his day and has the ability to turn a game on its head in a few overs. His aggressive batting, smart off-spin bowling and his agility in the field makes him a great asset for any side. Though his ODI numbers of 2700 runs in 90 innings are not great, it doesn’t completely justify the impact Maxwell can make in a game. He showed glimpses of his talent in the last World Cup in Australia where he scored 324 runs at an average of 64.80 and an astonishing strike rate of 182. He is regarded highly by the current Australian coach Justin Langer, who believes the best of Glenn Maxwell is yet to come. He looked in fine touch in his last ODI series against Pakistan in UAE and scored 258 runs in 4 innings. The Australian will look to replicate his last World Cup performance and light up the big stage once again with his big towering sixes.
